Melissa Bird is the Senior Events Manager at Recurrent Military & Defense, where she produces the Military Influencer Conference (MIC), the premier gathering for military and veteran influencers, brands, and advocates. In this role, she leads event strategy, logistics, and stakeholder relationships to deliver a high-impact experience for the military-connected community.
With over 15 years of experience spanning iconic global brands, including ESPN, the New York Mets, Walt Disney World, and the National Weather Center, Melissa brings deep expertise in program management, strategic partnerships, and event execution. She spent nearly eight years at the D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) in a leadership role, supporting entrepreneurship programs and strategic partnerships for veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs. She also served as President of MB2 Communications, helping organizations grow through brand management, crisis communications, and executive-level events.
Melissa holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations, an MBA in sports management, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). A proud military spouse and passionate advocate for the veteran community, she is also a member of the prestigious George W. Bush Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program and frequently serves as a mentor and keynote speaker across the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
