How to Update a Published Profile

When you edit a live profile, your changes go into a draft that visitors don’t see. Make the changes in the Creator Studio, compare draft and live in Preview, then select Submit for review. The team publishes the update or asks for a change. The public page keeps showing the last approved version until then.

Before You Begin

This guide is for profiles that are already live. Sign in to the Creator Studio. The overview shows when the profile was last published and whether an update is already pending.

1. Edit the Draft

Make your changes in any section. They go into a draft that only you, your managers and the team can see. The bottom bar counts the unsubmitted changes.

Expected result: the count rises as you edit. Nothing is public yet.

2. Compare Draft and Live

Open Preview. Switch between Draft and Live profile to see exactly what will change.

Expected result: the Draft view includes your edits; the Live view is what visitors see right now.

3. Submit for Review

  1. Select Submit for review in the bottom bar.
  2. The overview shows Under review. You get an email when the team acts.
Expected result: the status pill reads Under review and the bottom bar offers Withdraw pending update.

4. If the Team Requests Changes

The status becomes Changes requested and the note explains what’s needed. Make the change in the draft and select Resubmit for review. Your public page stays the same the whole time.

Expected result: the note tells you what to adjust. Edit and resubmit.

5. The Approved Result

When the team publishes, the overview reads Published with the date, the Live view in Preview matches your draft, and the public page shows the change. Collections and Discover update shortly after.

If you clear out a section, it comes off your public page. Blank sections never show. You can’t publish a half-finished edit by accident.

What Success Looks Like

The overview reads Published with today's date, Preview's Live view matches your edits, and the public page shows the change.

Common Problems

  • You can’t find the edit on the public page. It’s still a draft or still under review. Check the status pill on the overview.
  • The team asked for a change you disagree with. Reply to the email. The note starts a conversation. It’s not a final decision.
  • You submitted the wrong thing. Select Withdraw pending update, fix the draft, and resubmit.

Questions People Ask

Can visitors see my edits while they’re under review?

No. The public page keeps showing the last approved version until the team publishes the update.

Can I edit while an update is pending?

Yes. Edits go into the draft. Resubmit for review sends the newer version; Withdraw pending update pulls the submission back.

Which changes get extra attention?

Changes to the military connection block are always flagged for review. Changes that affect a verification check may lead the team to re-confirm that check.

Who publishes the update?

Only the MIC Index team. Managers and editors you invite can propose changes but can’t publish.
